Katja Pudor negotiates the theme "time" in her works. In drawings, installations and performances, overlays of thought and action structures are visualized and the question of how the "recent past" (Walter Benjamin) can be made visible as both past and present is explored. In different constellations (with artists of different genres, physical places, as well as materials such as paper, charcoal, ink) different sediments of memories, meanings and references are uncovered and incorporated into the artistic process in the sense of an archaeology of the present.
Katja Pudor verhandelt in ihren Arbeiten das Thema „Zeit“. In Zeichnungen, Installationen und Performances werden Überlagerungen von Denk- und Handlungsstrukturen verbildlicht und der Frage nachgegangen wie das „Jüngstvergangene“ (Walter Benjamin) als Vergangenheit und zugleich Gegenwart sichtbar gemacht werden kann. In unterschiedlichen Konstellationen (mit KünstlerInnen verschiedener Genres, zu physischen Orten, sowie zu Materialien wie Papier, Kohle, Tinte) werden im Sinne einer Archäologie der Gegenwart unterschiedliche Sedimente von Erinnerungen, Bedeutungen und Referenzen freigelegt und in den künstlerischen Prozess eingearbeitet.

Katja Pudor installiert ihre Arbeit "Manipulating the archive" am 17. Oktober im Haus der Statistik.
In diesem Zustand wird die Installation von der Straße bis zum 29. Oktober zu sehen sein.
Zu
Beginn der Performance ändert sich das Ausstellungssetting: Das Untere
wird zur Oberen. Ebenen werden überzeichnet und zum verschwinden
gebracht.
Der Raum wird zum Palimpsest, alle Spuren bleiben und können wieder "gelesen" und wieder beschrieben werden..

In this state the installation will be seen from the street until October 29.
At
the beginning of the performance, the exhibition setting changes: the
lower becomes the upper. Levels are overdrawn and yellowed to
disappear.
The room becomes a palimpsest, all traces remain and can be "read" and described again and again..

The Network of the Independent Berlin Project Spaces and Initiatives collaborates with Haus der Statistik initiative within the framework of pioneer uses. This enables various project spaces and initiatives for different uses of space. As part of this unique project in Berlin, L’oiseau présente was selected to pursue its performance series with Katja Pudor in October 2019, curated by Anke Völk.
